Note: Seeing as I missed class Friday, I don't have so much as a rough draft to put here. Check out Johnny Miceli's page for a super rough cut. Thus far, this project has been running smoothly, more so than expected.  What started as an experiment with aperture, has now somehow become 2 separate videos on lighting and lens. Me and Johnny have even been in talk of making more if these first two turn out well. The process of teaching actually helps expand my knowledge and provides good experience. It nice just to be working consistently on something, getting my hands on camera a lights. So far, the only problems have been lack of time, lack of planning, and lighting troubles. Seeing as we don't have a full studio t work with, we have set our backdrop as a gross white sheet with thousands of wrinkles as opposed to a smooth white background. Lighting it, as well as our subject, has been a challenge as well. we want good light on our subject's (johnny) face, but we also want to eliminate the shadows. For our intro shot, we ended up just using four lights and blasting everything. 1 Key, 1 hair,  and two on the sheet. I hope these films can come to fruition as good as I see them in my head. More here later

Update 10/5/18:

Our biggest conflict so far has been time management. We are both working around other films and projects that need to be completed. We also struggle from poor pre-production and lack of vision. While making stuff up on the fly can be fun, its not very effective. However, the shots have all turned out quite nicely on camera and the audio sounds good. After a brief setback early in the week, we needed to re-shoot some clips. Now the trick is editing the entire thing to be somewhat tolerable. Color grading will be the last step, and already this year I find I'm more comfortable with the color tools than in the past.
